“Sometimes being heard is the first step forward.”

Counselling can provide a space where you can slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing and begin to reconnect with yourself.

Counselling support tailored to you

Everyone’s experience is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. I offer a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space where you can talk openly, feel heard and explore what is happening for you.

To create a safe and welcoming space where every person feels heard, understood and respected. I believe that being truly listened to can be the beginning of meaningful change. My hope is to support you to better understand yourself, recognize your strengths and find a way forward that feels right for you.

Tools for challenges

A space shaped around you

My practice is grounded in a person-centered approach, where feeling heard, respected and accepted is at the heart of our work. I work in a pluralistic and integrative way, drawing on approaches such as ACT, CBT and Narrative Therapy to support your individual needs.

When life changes after migration

Moving to a new country can bring opportunities, but it can also bring challenges that aren't always easy to explain to others.

As an immigrant myself, I understand that starting a life somewhere new can involve much more than simply adapting to a different place. You may be navigating changes in identity, relationships, family roles, culture, language, work, belonging and your sense of home.

Sometimes you can feel caught between two worlds — grateful for the life you've built while still missing the people, places, routines and familiarity you left behind.

You may also be experiencing loneliness, homesickness, anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief, uncertainty or a sense that the person you were before migration doesn't quite fit with who you are becoming.

For some people, there can be an added pressure to appear as though everything is going well because you made the decision to move and "should" be grateful for the opportunity. But being grateful and struggling can exist at the same time.

I offer a warm, non-judgemental and culturally responsive space where you can talk openly about your experience without needing to explain or minimise what you're feeling.

We can explore what migration has meant for you, what you may have lost or left behind, the challenges you're facing now, and how you want to move forward while staying connected to the parts of yourself that matter.

You don't have to navigate the experience alone.

This may be helpful if you are:

  • adjusting to life in New Zealand after migrating from another country
  • experiencing homesickness, loneliness or a loss of belonging
  • struggling with changes in identity or cultural expectations
  • finding relationships or family roles have changed since migration
  • feeling isolated or finding it difficult to build a new support network
  • navigating the challenges of starting again in a new country
  • experiencing grief for people, places, relationships or a way of life you have left behind
  • feeling caught between your culture of origin and your life in New Zealand
  • supporting a partner or family member through the migration and adjustment process
  • questioning where you belong or what "home" means to you now
